How to create a custom Google Map with the locations of the Congregation Members

Export Family Heads

  1. In KHS, click Import or Export, then under Export select Family Heads
  2. Click OK to save the file to the Desktop (you can exit KHS after exporting the file)

Generate Google Map

  1. Click this link:  https://www.google.com/maps/about/mymaps/
  2. Click GET STARTED
  3. Click CREATE A NEW MAP
  4. Click Import and drag the family heads.csv file onto this page or click Browse and select the file
  5. On the Choose columns to position your placemarks screen, check address and click Continue
  6. On the Choose a column to title your markers screen, check name and click Finish
  7. If a box appears indicating 1 or more rows could not be shown, click Open data table to fix any addresses or click Dismiss to remove those addresses from the map.
  8. At the top-left, click Untitled map and enter the name of the map, then click Save
  9. Below the title, click + Share and enable the option Anyone with this link can view
  10. Click the Copy icon at the end of the URL link to save it to memory
  11. You can optionally click Uniform style to change the appearance and colors of the pins
  12. Text or email the URL to the body of elders
