Although KHS is a Windows program, it is possible to run it on an Apple iMac or MacBook. To do so requires that you install Windows on your device. The following explains how.
How to install KHS on an Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4, etc,) computer
KHS can be installed on the newest Apple Silicon computers using the following method. Please note, this is the only method for installing KHS on Apple Silicon devices:
- Install Parallels Desktop for Mac from the Parallels website
- Install Windows 11 which is included with Parallels
- Install KHS from our web site
How to install KHS on macOS
There are several virtual machine programs available for you to use to install KHS on macOS, we recomment using either:
- Boot Camp (free software provided by Apple),
- Parallels Desktop (paid commercial software application provided by Parallels)
Install KHS using Boot Camp
- Visit http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO and download a Windows 10 ISO file.
- Note: There is no cost to download and use a Windows 10 ISO file.
- Follow the instructions Install Windows 10 on your Mac with Boot Camp Assistant
- Boot up Windows 10 on your Mac
- Visit majesticsoftware.net and download KHS
- Install KHS from our web site
Install KHS using Parallels Desktop
- Download Parallels Desktop
- Follow the instructions Getting Started with Parallels
- Boot up Windows 11 on your Mac
- Visit majesticsoftware.net and download KHS
- Install KHS from our web site
Important note: There's an error in Parallels involving the share Mac folders with Windows feature that can prevent KHS from importing data from backup files. This only happens once after Windows is initially installed. Disabling (and optionally re-enabling) the share Mac folders with Windows feature should resolve this issue.
